Our house was a small, two story Victorian located a few
blocks away from the Main Street Boardwalk. It was blue, with white trim and a
separate garage just big enough to fit our one car.
I doubt I would really need the car much.
Everything was within walking distance.
No more subways or buses either. No more cabs.
No more noise, no more hectic commutes, no more crowds of
people…
“We’re here.” Zack pulled the U-Haul up the cement driveway, and put it in park.
I took a deep breath to bury the panic, and then leaned over
and kissed him.
“Home sweet home.” I smiled when I spoke.
The smile was to hide my shaking hands.
